Politically the lockdowns worked, economically they were a runaway success for the elites to the tune of trillions in profits, bailouts and crushing the competition.

Repression works politically and economically, which is why its the human norm.

Governor Kristi Noem should be celebrated widely in the United States .Would that we had such sound leadership in Canada. Bless her heart for taking care of the citizens of her state in the interest of everyone .

Noem and DeSantis need to be the Republican ticket for 2024, in either order. I'm a lifelong Democrat, but am now a single-issue voter: I will only vote for people who fought lockdowns, and will put in place laws to make sure they never happen again. Bonus points if they're willing to drop a nuke on China!

The light beginning to shine on this topic is good. Incredible it taken a whole year to begin to open people’s eyes. Final battle will be mask policies, especially in schools. Keep it up Jordan-so fortunate to have your voice.

The facts do not lie here. We have been duped from the get-go. The time for massive civil disobedience is here, no more lockdowns, no more social distancing, no more closed schools, no more vaccines. Just say no.

It's actually quite interesting that the NYT did (and still updates) a piece on excess deaths (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/01/14/us/covid-19-death-toll.html) that shows the lockdown severity seems to have almost no connection to excess deaths, but they derived zero conclusions from it.

You have hard-lockdown state like California doing absolutely terribly (especially remarkable given that most of California has excellent weather year-round), and no-lockdown states like North Dakota doing similarly bad. But then you have hard-lockdown (though not as hard as California) states like Washington doing very well, and no-lockdown states like Florida doing not much worse.

But the most interesting for me is how politicized this has become. Here in California, whenever you mention that our states is doing really, really poorly on the COVID front despite the harshest lockdowns in the developed world (maybe with the exception of Australia and New Zealand), everyone will come at you blaming "those Republicans in Orange County!". Funnily enough the O.C. does not do as badly as liberal LA, but even if they did, that's just one county - Florida is an entire state of Republican counties!

More evidence that lockdowns are not science-based but pure "scientism" and meant to further control a population of manipulated frightened people.
