I would guess that Sweden is also accurately reporting deaths from Covid, not with Covid, unlike the US where people with gunshot wounds, heart attacks, lung cancer, etc., are contrived as Covid deaths.
I am an American who lives in Anhui, the province next to Hubei, where Wuhan is. I don't follow any sort of domestic news source or blog or Twitter. My information about the virus largely comes from my private institution I work for. So how has Chinese propaganda influenced me in the way that is described here? I have 2 eyes. I know anecdotal evidence is not sufficient, but rather than claiming the Chinese government is lying (which, granted, they do) isn't the easiest solution that the measures actually worked here? My city of 8million has been business as usual, more or less, since May. When outbreaks of the virus makes news here, the cases are in the double digits, in which they take it very seriously with mass testing, contact tracing through an app, and yes more lockdowns. In my organization, which employs hundreds of people, I have not heard of even one person testing positive. Not one person died, or was "vanished". I have visited the largest hospital in the region multiple times as one of my colleagues had suffered a heart attack. On none of those visits was there any indication of services being overwhelmed. All of these accounts of China's nefarious propaganda campaign, I have never once seen any information come from people on the ground in China. I am not a Twitter bot (I don't even have Twitter). No one is paying me to write this account.
I’m so confused by this article. What about the approx 80k excess deaths in the uk in 2020? Also - the Chinese government tested every single person in Wuhan. No western govt has done that to my knowledge. I really want to understand this perspective.
Rather easy to defeat a virus that HAS NEVER BEEN ISOLATED and has a 99% recovery rate. We have three choices. A) Continue doing what we are doing believing the vaccine will “save” us (it won't) from this presumably terrible virus. B) Use the China approach of draconian lock-downs (impractical for many reasons and not enforceable across the entire country). We do not have 2 million in our army nor another half million in reserve to enforce this approach. C) Accept the fact that it exists, it is not killing many below the age of 65 and our “stats” are wrong.
AND do what makes sense. That translates to early treatment, isolating our seniors and opening up completely for all other citizens. And yes we will have some cases below age 65, almost none in children or younger adults and few in the 40 to 65 age range as long as they have no other conditions (co-morbidity) meaning diabetes, heart disease, weight issues, immune system problems, etc. If we do use commonsense our country will continue a downward spiral..

5. Although vaccines are coming, to eliminate the virus the entire world would have to be vaccinated at the same time for the world to open up. This is logistically impossible. And the latest information is you will need another vaccination in 8 months. It only lasts that long

What we've learned is that Democrats in the United States are using main stream media to spread their propaganda to cripple this country by spreading fear about covid. Do not let them shut down your businesses and schools! Kids must go to school! I can't believe that people don't see through their lies. The one thing china did that I thought was smart was that they took people's temperature before getting on mass transit, going in stores etc. If you had a fever you were refused entry. This keeps people with the virus or the flu or whatever from being able to infect so many I think. Since asymptomatic people probably aren't big spreaders this would probably shut the spread down. I don't want to be in the store next to someone with a high temperature from whatever is ailing them.
Suppose there is a society (China) where government controls all news media. Suppose further this government wants to spread a virus to enemy societies, but wishes to portray its own people as a victim of the virus outbreak. To accomplish this it builds a vast 'COVID-19 Park' like Disney World (call it COVID-19 World). In the park the government media shoots news videos of people collapsing in public for no apparent reason, staged COVID-19 lockdowns, police arrests for violations of government anti-pandemic restrictions, crying victims welded into their apartment buildings, etc., just like a Hollywood studio movie except the virus and victims are real and the videos are run on TV and internet constantly.-- but here is the key point: the COVID-19 Park is not one place but selected disparate limited locations to give the impression the virus has spread throughout the entire country. The viral outbreak is real but controlled in limited locations allowing the government to quickly limit the damage to society. It is a partially true 'wag-the-dog' strategy that will convince the enemy societies that it was a real pandemic and the reaction of enemy countries is to believe severe lockdowns are necessary which will cripple their economies ( as predicted by the perpetrating country). If this is the scenario that's playing out, the 'enemy' nations should declare war on the aggressor nation.
