Good point about taking advantage of any government subsidy available to you. These programs are funded by printing dollars, which is the same as taking the money directly from our bank accounts. Anyone who refuses to use the subsidy is being robbed. What I find most objectionable about these subsidies is that they are for cars that are too expensive for many Americans to own at all. So we are taxing poor people to subsidize the purchase of nice, new cars by people who can already afford cars on their own.
For decades we have heard dire predictions related to excessive government spending and control, yet in all this time the changes have been gradual and relatively tame by comparison to the predictions. I believe at some point the rotten deck on the ship of state will collapse, but until it does there is no reason to expect the masses to rise up in revolt because they are still able to have their cake and eat it too.
Only when that changes will people react; of course by that time the ship will be sinking and it will be too late for most. Oh well …..
